What does this qualification cover?

This qualification is designed for individuals who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (for example a workshop, classroom or other training environment).

To be awarded the NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement, learners are required to successfully complete all 3 mandatory units.
Unit 01 – Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
Unit 02 – Assess occupational competence in the work environment
Unit 03 – Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding

Who is it suitable for?

This could also be undertaken by –

  • Individuals who are not currently working as an Assessor but can meet the practice requirements, including the observed and assessment practice requirements, of the qualification
  • Individuals who are currently teaching and training (including those who have just begun teaching and training) who can meet the practice requirements, including the observed and assessed practice requirements, of the qualification
  • individuals currently working as Assessors but who plan to meet to the requirements of either workplace or training environment assessment practice.
What are the entry requirements?

Learners should be aged 19 or over to undertake the qualification

How many credits are required to complete it?

Learners must achieve a minimum of 15 credits to gain this qualification.

How is it assessed?

All units are internally assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a portfolio of evidence using different range of assessment methods such as Observation, Questioning, Professional Discussion, RPL, Product of Work etc.

How long will it take to complete this qualification?

Learners can usually complete the qualification within 12 months.

Do you need to be working to take this qualification?

Learners will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement to be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills.
