What does this qualification cover?

This qualification is an introductory teaching qualification. This dependon the optional units chosen by a learner –  a learner could either partake in in a microteaching or teaching practice in the work environment.

Who is it suitable for?

This could also be undertaken by individuals who are either currently working in a teaching role or not currently in a teaching role if the microteaching option is taken and for individuals currently working as Assessors.

What are the entry requirements?

Learners should be aged 19 or over to undertake the qualification

How many credits are required to complete it?

Learners must achieve a minimum of 12 credits to gain this qualification.

How is it assessed?

All units are internally assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a portfolio of evidence using different range of assessment methods such as Observation, Questioning, Professional Discussion, RPL, Product of Work etc.

How long will it take to complete this qualification?

Learners can usually complete the qualification within 6 months.

Do you need to be working to take this qualification?

Learners will need to partake in a microteaching session or could be working, volunteering or on practical placement to be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills.

What related qualifications can you progress to?

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to:  Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training  or  Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.
